"Ligature Lisa The Tattooist"
Currently incarcerated in California. "What art means to me: Nowadays creating artwork is a lifestyle, an intellectual process and exercise. It consumes a large portion of my day. I typically draw for 5 or 6 hours a day. 90% of which I’m not satisfied with. My background in art is Graffiti. I began graf when I was about 12 and was heavily involved in that as I got older. If I’m not drawing, I’m jotting ideas down for other projects or doing other art related stuff. When I have my headphones on, just my body is here in prison, my mind isn’t there. I see art in everything, I observe the play of shadows from a light source, the characteristics of metal, plastic or skin etc… It’s fascinating to me. Some of my favorite artists are the Italian masters Raphael, Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Auso. A handful of graffiti writers and several tattoo artists(Black/Grey realism artists!).
