Clipper Club
'Clipper Club' This piece is titled “Clipper Club” and was inspired by some Pan American history! For many years Pan American World Airways provided exclusive airport membership lounges around the world known as The Clipper Club. At first, in the 1950s, membership was by invitation-only, based on a potential customer’s international travel. In later years membership was opened up to the public for a $1,000 fee. The Clipper Clubs offered customers comfortable seating and drink service away from the boarding gates. The original Clipper Club was upstairs in the NY International Airport (now JFK International Airport) and commanded a 270 degree view of the runways. If I lived back then, and had the means, this would be my dream spot to enjoy a drink and take in the sites as I waited for my flight! I hope this piece brings to mind the magic and romance that Pan Am brought to the world through their amazing vision of what an airline should be! All prints are professionally printed, package
