
SCAEA-Members Workshop: Mixed Media Memories Collage
Join Kaitlyn Edington, also known as "Art with Mrs. E," for an exclusive SCAEA members-only virtual workshop. In this 1.5-hour session, we will explore the world of painted paper and collage to create a beautiful work of art that teachers can adapt for students of varying ages. We will focus on various painting and collaging techniques while creating a whimsical landscape inspired by a favorite core memory. DATE: Wednesday, June 5th, 2024TIME: 7:00-8:30 pm ESTVIA Zoom: Link provided a few days before the workshop Recommended Materials: Please note, attendees must provide their own supplies for this workshop. Below are some recommended materials 9x12 or 11x17 90lb white drawing paper A variety of paper sizes/weights for painted paper (newsprint for tempera paint, watercolor paper for watercolor painted paper) Glue stick and scissors Watercolor set and tempera paints Objects to create texture for painted paper (e.g., plastic forks, comb, old toothbrush, texture rollers, anything that can make a fun line when run through wet paint) Various paint brushes Optional: oil pastels, colored pencils, and paint sticks, and an ipad for a reference image.
