Teal Tentacle Faux Taxidermy
Faux taxidermy with a twist: it's a tentacle (antlers are so yesteryear). If you're a Jules Verne fan putting together a spectacular steampunk room, a marine biologist (squidologist?) or just bought that little beachfront property this tentacle's for you! This is a 24" octopus arm (very similar to a squid's tentacle) that I cast in sturdy urethane resin, then polished and hand painted each and every sucker. The 9 1/4" diameter porthole is cast from the same material and is rust encrusted. Size: When assembled, it extends from the wall 18 1/2". Sturdy yet lightweight, it hangs on a single screw. Materials: cast resin, pigment, Baltic birch plywood, steel, paint Tentacle is cast from molds made from my original sculpt. Note: Depending on backlog, it may take a week or so to finish and ship.
