You Must Be Born Again

Do you know what it means to be “Born Again”? What does John 3:16 really teach us about being  Born Again in the context in which it is given?   Many in the church world have taken a conversation that Yeshua had with a Pharisee at night about being born again, and have developed powerhouse ministries teaching a gospel message of salvation and altar calls.  Televangelists have built multimillion dollar ministries based on the Gospel account recorded in John 3. But what did Yeshua really teach in John 3 about being born again? Was Yeshua sharing a message of salvation with Nicodemus, and if so, why didn’t he offer an altar call for Nicodemus to give his heart to Jesus? Was John 3:16 a verse given to provoke people to make an emotional decision for Christ, or was it something else?  Like many other Biblical passages, this much-quoted verse is taught and preached in a manner that is isolated from the passage context in which it was written.
