Eskimo Miniature Walrus Ivory Kayak

This is a miniature ivory Eskimo kayak with a long pointed prow which is more like the Kayaks from Hudson Bay Eskimos and other areas of Eastern Canada. This kayak would have had a figure in it originally but these often get separated. The surface shows more carving lines and dings than one would see on a later piece which suggests to me that it was carved in an area that had less exposure to carvings for the collector's and resale market.
