Detective Comics #704

The story of Dieter Ganz and his clumsy career as a Burglar. The issue presumably starts with Batman's thoughts, acquainting us with the story of Dieter Ganz, AKA Al Gabone (a nickname given to him by the cops in Gotham City). His first crime started and ended quickly at a liquor store in Eastlyn, where the paper bag he used as a mask interfered with his vision causing him to lose his footing. The cops arrived in time to save his life from getting beaten to death by the store clerk. This being his first felony, it placed him inside of Blackgate for 5 years. Good behavior got him out in 3 years. On his second day out, Dieter tried to hold up a gas station, but the spray paint he used for his his resulted in intoxication. This time, he went back to Blackgate for 10 years. He was out in 5 years again, because of his good behavior. After he got out, he was back in the game.
