Sara Hall Being born and raised in New York City offered me many opportunities, one being easy access to great art. My uncle, Alan Kapelner, a writer who lived among artists in Greenwich Village, introduced me to the gallery scene at a young age. My parents, both teachers, also encouraged my talent to draw and paint by sending me to Art&Design High School in Manhattan and then to the Rhode Island School of Design. After college I had the good fortune to work in some great places. I was an assistant art director at Marvel Comics and it was as much fun as it sounds. I then freelanced for several magazines at Condé Nast Publishing, Vogue being my favorite. I was lucky to stay at Vogue for 25 years.
