Margeaux G Aubusson Rug

Margeaux is inspired by neoclassical Aubusson carpets of the French Empire and Directoire periods. At this time the designs of Percier and Fontaine for Napoleon's palaces were highly admired. A green field contains an oval central medallion with pale gray, gold, tan and green inner sections. Della Robbia floral wreaths in rose, lilac, tan, gray, blue and teal-green hang from the medallion and connect with two blue and gold amphorae placed at the midpoint of the width side. A pale gray border contains straight Della Robbia floral wreaths. Four green corners contain classical objects. An outside band of laurel leaves and intertwining blue ribbons completes this majestic rug. Handmade with ancient French dyeing and weaving methods, this rug has thousands of subtle color shades which make it go with many fabrics.
