Original Atocha Shipwreck coin unmounted complete with the original certificate from Treasure Salvors INC. Signed by Mel Fisher.  Grade 1 dictates that the coin was retrieved from the almost middle of the pack (motherload) in the wreckage with very corrosion compared to Grade 3 or 4. An 8 Reales silver coin was approximately equivalent to one month’s pay for a sailor in the 1600’s. The obverse has an impressively visible Greek cross with all the minor details still in view from the naked eye. The shield on the reverse bears terrific visibility with a deep, intricate, and detailed finish still in tact. The reverse does not have the Assayer or Mint in the optic view but the legend letters on the exterior still in 50% detail.
