Antique Silk Jacket [S]

Handmade, one of a kind jacket. Made from the most incredible antique crazy quilt. 100% silk and silk velvet. Amazing hand embroidered details throughout. Dated 1893. Wonderful Americana history and art piece.  Please note that that half of the quilt was water damaged when I found it. I salvaged the good half, but there are still some stains from storage that can never be removed. Please note that it is VERY distressed throughout. Some areas are completely disintegrated leaving nothing but the muslin backing. I think each different silk material has aged in such a unique way it truly adds to the charm. I couldn't truly capture in photos all of the amazing embroidered details but there are a TON!  Finished with early 1900s sparrow bird buttons. These are so special! Please note they are just for decoration, as they are too fragile to function as real buttons, as the silk is too delicate for button holes.
