What better way to get kids excited about washing their hands than by using soap they made together with you? In this playful, hands-on parent/child class, you’ll explore two colorful ways to make soap—each one as fun to create as it is to use. We’ll begin with a quick, kid-friendly look at the science of soap and why it does such a great job keeping our skin clean.  Then the making begins: you and your child will start by creating wet-felted soap, wrapping soft, dyed sheep’s wool around a bar of moisturizing body soap, and use water and plenty of enthusiastic scrubbing to felt it into a cozy, colorful “washcloth” layer. The finished bar lasts longer, has a gentle exfoliating texture, and won’t slip out of little hands. From there, you’ll dive into a second project using a magical, moldable soap dough.
