Get ready to go blue! Immerse yourself in the magic of indigo and the traditional Japanese art of Shibori, a resist-dyeing technique that uses folding, twisting, and binding to create intricate, one-of-a-kind patterns on fabric. Think of it as sophisticated tie-dye using a unique plant-based, rich blue dye. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to prepare your materials and set up the dye vat using indigo, then explore a variety of Shibori techniques as you dye your fabric. Watching your designs emerge—each unique and full of character—is one of the most rewarding parts of the process. You’ll receive a 28” cotton tea towel and a large canvas tote bag to dye, with additional items like zipper pouches, pillow covers, and more available for purchase.
