Shibori & Indigo Dye Workshop

Get ready to get blue! Immerse yourself in the magic of indigo and the ancient art of shibori! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn traditional folding, twisting, and binding techniques to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind patterns on fabric using rich indigo dye. We’ll start by setting up the dye vat and preparing our materials, then dive into the dyeing process. Watching your creations unfold—literally—is one of the most exciting parts, as each piece reveals its own unique design. You’ll receive a 28” cotton tea towel and a tote bag to dye, and additional items like pouches, pillow covers, and more will be available for purchase. Feel free to bring one small natural fiber item of your own (cotton or silk only, please—no large pieces like bed sheets or fabric yardage). There could be some drips, so wearing clothes that you wouldn’t mind getting stained is encouraged!
