This is a beautiful polished sphere of banded aragonite from Morocco. This sphere displays brown, tan, white and translucent bands of aragonite and likely calcite. Aragonite is a naturally occurring polymorph of calcium carbonate which differs from calcite in its crystal lattice structure.
