Plinia sp. Branca Melancia (aka Branca Rajada, Watermelon) is names for its appearance that resembles the rind of a watermelon. Tree 3 - 4 meters high, with a pyramidal crown and knotty trunk. Native to the highest regions of the Zona da Mata of Minas Gerais in the forests close to the municipality of Dona Euzébia. It is cultivated in small orchards, mainly by fruit collectors. Subglabrous fruits, with a thick skin, with a juicy pulp and a very sweet flavor.
