Cartier Signed Silver Frame

A small rounded rectangle, sterling silver picture frame made in Italy for Cartier. Quite a mouthful, but the little frame packs quite the punch. In an era of cellphones and social media, its nice to sit back and appreciate a physical photograph now and then. Made in a time before cell phones, many companies outsourced and utilized international partnerships. This piece was likely made for Cartier by an Italian manufacturer during a time of heavy international taxation or unrest. The inner and outer edges are slightly elevated above the main face of the frame, adding a layer of depth. The bit of patina that has formed on this flat portion adds an additional layer of depth and character. The back is made of a blue velvet-like material with 3 small arms to hold the stand and backing in place. The space for a photograph is on the smaller side, 39x29mm.
