R.Wallace & Sons Silver Box
Likely manufactured in the beginning part of the 20th century, this pill or trinket box is of a passing era. R. Wallace and Sons was an American silversmith, like many in the early 20th century, producing a large volume of home goods and accessories in sterling and silver plate. The neat thing about RW & Sons however is that they were purchased by Hamilton Watch Company in 1959 aand held briefly, until changing ownership multiple times in the 60-80’s. This box or container was likely intended for a vanity or nightstand, and was to be accompanied by a selection of other sterling silver wares such as dishes, brushes, and mirrors. With a wonderfully ornate floral design around the perimeter of the lid, it encapsulates the convex center, which is engraved with the delicately flowing initials “RD”. A great place for trinkets, medicine, or any small items you’d like to keep in a beautifully functional box. Please check dimensions below to ensure the fit of whatever it is intended for.
