3x5 Oklahoma State Flag For Sale The Oklahoma state flag consists of the traditional Osage Nation buffalo-skin shield with seven eagle feathers set on a field of sky blue. On the Osage shield, it is covered by symbols of peace, the olive branch (representing the European Americans) and the Plains-style ceremonial pipe (representing the Native Americans.) Six brown crosses across the shield are the Native Americans symbol for the stars. The blue field envokes devotion while the posture of the shield with peace symbols represents a defensive or protective stance while showing love of peace by it's united people. The current Oklahoma state flag is not the original flag from 1911-1925. The original flag was red, white, and blue with a large star and the number 46 in the middle, representing Oklahoma as the 46th State of the Union.
