There is a tension here, but also enough flesh to make it enjoyable; the wine echos on the palate in a satisfying way – a classic, reductive Roulot style. It should open up with a few more years to show even more nuance. The grapes come from the coldest part of the village on the border of Auxey-Duresses, with a northeast exposition in a small valley with just 30cm earth before the stone."
