Rwanda Nyamasheke
REGIONnyamasheke ELEVATION1800-2000 m VARIETALred bourbon peaberry PROCESSwashed TASTE NOTESfloral, blood orange, kit-kats ROAST LEVELlight This outstanding coffee comes from the Nyamasheke District, nestled on the shores of Lake Kivu in Rwanda’s Western Province. Grown at high altitudes in rich volcanic soil, it reflects the care and craftsmanship of local farmers. Milled at the Rwamatamu washing station and further processed in Kigali, this coffee is truly a labor of love. This lot was named "Hirwa" or "be blessed" by the family that runs Rwamatamu. We were introduced to Bernice and her family through Sean Stewart at Bridging Tables, who Ellen & Alison met while sitting their Q Grader exams. Bridging Tables is a newer importing company that exists to connect farmers and roasters to have a more collaborative approach to green coffee buying. We are so excited to have the opportunity to talk personally with Bernice, and to have even more direct trade with her
