The structure of the boot has a system that mimics a mechanical hinge. This design consists of a blade system that slides into pockets, providing flex forwards and backwards, but limiting side-to-side motion. Gaerne's excellent alloy replaceable buckles give secure closure, and now can be relocated to allow for larger calfs. Top it off with a wide, comfortable fit.
