The Purple UFO pepper is a productive plant with unique, flying-saucer-shaped fruit that ripens from purple to red. It has a fast-acting, tangy, fruity, and sweet flavor that fades quickly, comparable in heat to a jalapeño, making it great for salsas, salads, and pickling. Plants grow over 4 feet tall and feature dark, blackish-purple leaves, requiring support.   Appearance Fruit: Small (1-2 inches long), with a distinct "flying saucer" or UFO shape.  Color: Ripens from a striking purple to a red or darker burgundy.  Foliage: The plants have dark, black, or indigo-tinted leaves.  Flavor & Heat Flavor: Changes as the pepper ripens, ranging from mildly vegetal when purple to sweet, tangy, and fruity when ripe.  Heat: Has a moderate heat level, roughly 30,000 - 45,000 SHU, similar to a jalapeño. The heat comes on quickly but fades fast.  These seeds were grown in isolation to help protect genetics.
