While this velvet fabric has some stretch.. the bodice and arms are intended to fit more form fitting like you seen on our models. All models in the listing photos are wearing their true size 6T for reference and normally wear between 6/7 clothing.  In between sizes?  We would recommend not sizing up in this style unless TRULY in-between sizes or your little girl needs more room in the chest/waist in most tops.
