I love this Caramel Apple Pie recipe because it’s perfect any time of the year. Every Season loves apples, that’s why they keep through the winter with us when so many other flavors fade. In spring you can taste their flowers as you bite into their somehow still crisp flesh. In summer they’re a cool drink of water. In fall, they shine on chilly mornings as their sweetness grows and floats on the air like perfume. And in the winter they sustain us in all of their delightful forms and recipes. Two of my favorite ways to enjoy apples are when they are dipped in caramel and when they’re in pies. So naturally this Caramel Apple Pie Recipe is one of my favorites, because it’s always à la mode, ice cream or not. Print features red and green apples for the Fuji and Granny Smith I recommend using for the recipe, and an enticing lattice pie top that is not as challenging as you'd think, but still satisfying to complete and impressive to others.
