My People Are Free is a collage that features 19 amazing leaders (for June 19th) from the Black community in American history who have made incredible contributions to various fields. I embedded their names in a Harriet Tubman quote, "My people are free." This art features notable individuals such as Harriet Tubman, Malcolm X, Michael Jackson, Josephine Baker, Tina Turner, George Washington Carver, Anita Hill, Langston Hughes, Suzanne De Passe, Stevie Wonder, Gabrielle Jordan, Katherine Johnson, Shonda Rhimes, Miles Davis, Richard Allen, W.E.B. DuBois, Whoopi Goldberg, David Hammond, and Toni Morrison.I love incorporating symbolism in my work, especially by using colors that represent the Pan-African Flag and West African traditions. You'll notice this in the pieces I've created.  This collage is a tribute to the important aspects of Black history and African culture, and each color has a unique meaning that represents our past and future. Red symbolizes the struggles and sacrifices
