Reading a Recipe | Reading Comprehension Worksheet + Digital Activity

This Recipe Comprehension resource is one you can use over and over again in your classroom for every recipe, dish, and food you make. The resource is structured to have students reflect on and answer questions about the recipe they’ve completed. When students have questions about the recipe, this worksheet is a handy visual for them to refer to. Sometimes I have students review the recipe comprehension sheet a day ahead of time, create a copy to send home, and then students will bring the sheet along the recipe creation process. Ideas for use: Before and after making food, 1:1, small group, whole class, combination of independent reflection then partner and group share, send home with student for home communication, collect in student binder across the school year, continued reflection and cooking across the school year in discussion around different recipes.
