This wine strikes a balance between elegance and energy in a uniquely Willamette Valley style." It’s early in this wine’s existence but even at this youthful stage, ‘23 Mahonia reminds us of 2015 Mahonia—the greatest vintage of Mahonia, until now. In that way, Mahonia epitomizes the 2023s: they remind us of the 2015s in their structure and classic Pinot Noir profiles, but they’re more extroverted and we surely see that in the wildly seductive ‘23 Mahonia. Balancing crushably delicious layers of dark red fruit with porcini mushroom, rosemary, and brown spices, there is only 1 downside to this—only 60 cases were made.
