Eyrie is the godfather of Oregon wine. The first to plant Pinot noir in the Willamette Valley, the first to plant Pinot gris in North America, the first to show the world Oregon Chardonnay's aging prowess. Not that you should age this Chardonnay, because it is drinking beautifully. I opened it last night and had to practice major restraint not to finish the bottle. Fresh citrus and pear flavors, sublime texture, a quiet mineral pulse. Stunning.  Eyrie's contribution to Oregon Chardonnay is vast and cannot be overstated.
