Red Willow Vineyard—the birthplace of Washington Syrah—creates this spectacular Syrah. The fruit notes are like picking blackberries in summer; the savory elements crank the salivation to 11 with black pepper, smoky meats, and five-spice. Wonderfully textured and balanced, showing remarkably well right from the bottle, this has the framework to age a good long while but I swear if you open one now you won't be thinking about aging the other ones you have. You'll be making plans for when you'll crack the next bottle.
