Leather Map Case
A Re-Engineered Favorite From Our Willis & Geiger Days Saddle bags are as indigenous to the old west, as the map case is to navigation on the vast oceans of the earth. Both speak to the owner, as a part of his persona and then integrate to the point where they too develop their indivualism as “family”. Your map case will take on its own tactile feel from its time spent with your “maps,” to the point where it separates itself by look, sensation and wearspots as part of its personality development. We gave this Map Case a head start on its lifecycle by making it from a high-waxed and burnished soft glove, “vegetable-tanned” cowhide leather. We trimmed it with sand cast nickel finish “pony cart” hardware for the buckle and keeper. Originally found in Walsall, England at a foundry that builds this kind of hardware for harnesses and bridles, and given to an American belt maker that understood – this is the same Signature statement for buckles as found on our leather and canvas belt.
