Lovely 18th century Italian framed painting on canvas of a group of musical instruments, including a French horn, lute, violin and pan flute, all hanging from a ribbon with a big bow on top and tassels on the bottom. A very charming work in the muted palate of blues and pinks typical of 18th century Venice. Beautifully painted in the trompe l'oeil style. On the original stretcher in a later oak frame. My new favorite item. Circa 1780. Some minor small imperfections to the surface consistent with age and use. Lower left corner the canvas has been tacked. 54.75" h x 25" w x 1.5" d
