
1950's Space Age 83" Experimental 2-Bladed Polished Helicopter Rotor Airplane Propeller
This exceptional polished aluminum propeller is a one-of-a-kind aviation display piece, originally acquired from the New England Air Museum in its original condition. The museum regularly receives donations from Pratt & Whitney, Sikorsky, Raytheon, and Kaman, and this propeller is believed to have been an experimental aircraft propeller or helicopter rotor developed by one of these leading aerospace companies in the 1940s or 1950s. Experimental Status & Unique Markings A key feature of this propeller is the stamped marking on the brass part of hub: "EXP USE ONLY," confirming its experimental status.
