ConferX 4K 8x4 Matrix Switcher with Instant Switching
A perennial AVPro commercial workhorse, the ConferX series AC-CX-84 has received a technology-focused upgrade that provides new features that will please any commercial integrator. An input array of eight sources (two HDBaseT and six HDMI) can be matrixed simultaneously through two HDBaseT and two HDMI outputs to four separate displays. Sources now switch instant and delay-free, with bidirectional RS-232 HDBaseT I/Os. A local diagnostics window incorporated into the GUI monitors data traffic. The AC-CX-84 supports two modes of RS-232 data: Base64 encoded and raw ASCII/HEX. New built-in scaling options include 720p, a data projector matching 1920x1200, ultra-wide 2560x1080p, and super-wide 32:9 @ 3840x1080p, complementing the latest generation of desktop monitors and conference room DVLED walls. New also is an automatic EDID detection function to eliminate compatibility guesswork. Aspect Ratio Conversion enables the AC-CX-84 to warp an image to fit the screen or correctly match a 16:9 input source inside a 21:9 display. If a resolution can not be correctly matched, it is either letterboxed or pillarboxed. New features perfect for UCC rooms are HDMI 5-volt toggling and HDMI stream control. Many conferencing device codecs handshake with an HDMI source and neglect to release that one-to-one association when the particular source is no longer in use. These codecs expect a new HDMI Hot Plug Detect event that handshakes with a new source. As this is a physical event, it is not practical for permanent installations. The AC-CX-84 API now includes a High/Low toggle to allow complete disconnection between a source output and the capture device. HDMI Stream Control can disable scaling when no active video source is present at an output.
