Kokum Butter & Apricot Kernel Oil  Rye, Arizona is an unincorporated community in Gila County, Arizona with a population of only 77 souls. It is a community filled with history.  There are at least 19 archeological sites in this region, many the ancient homelands of four defined prehistoric peoples: the Anasazi, Sinagua, Mogollon, and Hohokam. It's little surprise that these people formed the basis of the Salado culture, which culminated between 1150-1450 A.D.  But, unlike many areas of the American Southwest, our knowledge of the prehistory of the Tonto Basin can still be said to be in its infancy.  Rye Creek intersects with Tonto Creek in a complex geography of time. Three physiographic zones have been identified within the Tonto Basin: the valley floor, the piedmont zone, and the mountain zone.
