Tonto Creek | Artisan Soap
Shea Butter & Apricot Kernel Oil This beautiful year-round creek flows 73 miles from the northern Mogollon Rim area, winding through the Hellsgate Wilderness area and stunning Sonoran desert, before finally ending at Roosevelt lake. With water flow reaching 50,000 cubic feet per second, flooding in the small communities it flows through is a very serious concern. Tonto Creek is a refuge for many in Arizona. The fully stocked creek features many rocky areas where fish love to congregate. Choose one of the hidden pools at higher elevations where the water is cooler and the trout are larger. This is not a place for amateur explorers. The river can flood quickly as water is often released into the creek. Mountain lions and bears roam the rocky crevices and areas of the place are often shut down completely to tourists to allow wildlife to roam peacefully. But, it is worth a trip. Stay alert. Carry bear spray and respect the wildlife and national forest as you kayak or fish or hike
