Epoxy Primer PPG Amercoat 240 One Gallon Kit

PPG Amercoat 240 Epoxy Primer /  One Gallon Kit Haze Gray or Off White PPG Amercoat 240 is the workhorse epoxy primer that I use at the Boat Crafters Shop almost exclusively.  With its high build characteristics, this primer will build from 4- 12 mils in thickness depending on your application method. I typically shoot one medium coat at a time building to 12mil if material thickness is required.  The primer is very thick and will require at minimum a 2.5mm tip spray gun to shoot un-reduced.  You may thin with Xylene to shoot with a 1.8mm tip gun however I suggest the larger 2.5mm tip for ease of application.  Primer can be rolled. However, as with rolling most any high-build primer, you will get roller/brush marks that will need to be block sanded out, assuming you are going for a perfect surface.
