The Tycon Power POE-SPLT-4805G is a Gigabit splitter which is useful for powering non-PoE devices from PoE switches or other PoE inserters. Supplying power to legacy equipment over CAT5 cable reduces installation costs because power and data can be supplied over a single low cost cable. Normal cable distances can be up to 300ft. The POE is to power a non POE device using POE. It has a POE input compatible with 802.3af and 802.3at POE standards. The 25W DC output is via a standard 5.5mm/2.1mm barrel connector on a 14in cable. Data output is thru a 14in CAT5 cable terminated with an RJ45 connector.Inputs and outputs are isolated. They have various protections for surge, short circuit, overload and overvoltage.
