In the center of the African continent lies a small nation called The Repulique du Tchad, or Chad for short. West of there, across the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean and 26 miles south of Cape Cod lies another Republic of Chad. However, this one exists seasonally, from Memorial day to Labor day each year. Around the same time the humingbirds visit. On the island of Nantucket a fascinating transformation occurs each spring as throngs of hormone saturated adolescent males descend upon the island. They come in search of suitable mating partners and tests of bravado in an effort to find their place within the hierarchy of north eastern coed society. Generally, they can be spotted by day along the islands sandy shores, engaed in traditional courting rituals such as football throwing and spike ball.
