The Mayans, the great ancestors of chocolate culture, lived in the region of Yucatan in the south and southeast of Mexico as well as areas of Belize, Guatemala and Honduras. They still live in Belize today and grow cacao, guarding centuries of knowledge passed down to them and enjoy their cacao as drinking chocolate. Josef Zotter and his family spent two weeks with the Mayan cacao farmers who live in the middle of the jungle away from the hustle and bustle of Belize City and made a documentary film of their journey.
