Original baseball card art The Mendoza Line (a .200 batting average) is the threshold for incompetent major league hitting. It began as a joke by George Brett teasing Mario Mendoza in an interview with ESPN's Chris Berman... and has since become the low bar. It's no wonder Mendoza was such a poor hitter with those squinty eyes and bottle thick glasses! Painted in green and black, as hitting above a .200 average is acceptable, but... hit below .200 and your career is dead. Made with over 20 of Mario Mendoza's 1975 Topps Mini rookie card.
