Batik is a delicate method of dyeing fabric using a removable wax resist. Hot wax is applied to fabric using batik blocks, canting pens, brushes, or other tools. The fabric and wax are then painted. After drying, the wax is removed in a boiling water bath, revealing a pattern on the fabric. In this batik workshop, you will learn the process of making batik, from applying liquid hot wax with various tools, applying dyes, and setting color. At the end, you will take home your own personalized Batik Boutique product. Approximate time: 3-4 hours Recommended Minimum Number of Participants (Quantity): 2 - 5 per session. Suitable for adults and kids alike. Workshops take place in our studio in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
