4AGE 16V Solid Lifter Conversion Lifters
If you are running cams with high lift or plan to run your engine to high RPM's, it is highly recommended to convert your valve lifters to a solid lifter style. From the factory, the 16V 4AGE was produced with a "shim over bucket" design. This meant that the shims would be located on top of the lifter. At high RPM's with a high lift cam, these shims may "wobble" on top of the lifter. A solution for this is to convert the 16V 4AGE to a solid lifter design. The buckets we offer are a direct drop-in replacement for the 4AGE and are even made by Toyota! Each lifter is sold with a specific height in order to set valve clearance, so the shim is integrated into the lifter itself. Before purchasing any of these from us, we recommend checking the valve clearance on your current engine, then measuring the height of the shims so that you know what height to order for each lifter we offer.
