The Michael Thonet No. 24 and No. 25 Bentwood Chairs show off the exquisite craftsmanship of Czech bentwood artisans. Using multiple pieces of steam bentwood and historical manufacturing methods, TON's reproduction of the B24 and B25 bentwood chairs are as beautiful now as they were over 100 years ago. Through the years, many variations of the No. 24 bentwood chair were made. This particular model is made at one of Michael Thonet's original factories located in the Czech Republic. The factory still exists over 150 years after its inception creating bentwood in classic as well as contemporary styles. In the mid-19th century, the Austro-Hungarian Empire was moving from a farm economy to an industrial economy. The timing was perfect for a light, durable and inexpensive chair. Mass production and standardized product were in great need, and Michael Thonet knew how to fill this need. Within 3 years of the opening of Gebruder Thonet’s second bentwood production plant in Koritschan, mor
