Philadelphia Furniture and Philadelphia Chippendale in particular is one of the most iconic & desirable disciplines of American cabinet making. Philadelphia was home to some of the most celebrated American cabinet makers such as John Elliot, Benjamin Randolph, Thomas Affleck & William Savery. The table exhibits nice proportions & has a really nice scrolled out table box, cabriolet legs with shell carved knees, & superbly executed triffid carved feet. Trifid carved feet are a rare decoration popular in top tier Philadelphia cabinet shops. These Trifid feet are well balanced and have a lot of character with a shallow double curve between the toes & an elongated webbing running up to the ankle.
