19th C Antique Regency Mahogany & Satinwood Sewing Stand / Work Table

Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this exceptional 19th century antique English Regency sewing stand / work table. The table has a Mahogany & Satinwood top with hand tooled leather around the body. The very center of the top has a fantastic cut of Fiddle Back Mahogany surrounded by a string inlay with a cross banded Mahogany border. The largest portion of the top features straight cut Mahogany that’s laid out in intersecting quadrants. There’s a couple more inlays before a large Satinwood border & a final series of inlays. The edge of the top has a Mahogany border & lifts open to reveal a pink silk brocade interior. The column is finely formed with down-swept legs with turret ends & inlaid panels. The legs have had some repairs but the work was well done and it’s pretty much commonplace with stands of this form. The stand does have a few age splits in the veneer and there’s a couple of tiny little veneer hits around the top edge. We’ll ask our restorer
