In the late 19th century the family operated a general store outside of Buffalo, NY. A gentleman had fallen on hard times and couldn't pay his bill and eventually our clients grandfather settled the debt with the bartering of this stunning Victorian bookcase. The cabinet was housed in the general store where it spent many years as a rifle cabinet thanks to it's generous size.
