19th Century Antique Federal Gold Mirror with Reverse Painted Panel

  Bay Colony Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this charming early 19th century antique Federal Period gold mirror with a reverse painted upper panel. The mirror has a well-defined cornice with gold spherules along the edge. One gold spherule is missing in the back left corner which we’ll have our restorer replace with one from a salvaged mirror. The upper tablet is reverse painted with a lovely country cottage scene amid a lovely sky-blue field with painted floral and vine motifs. The concave vertical stiles have a rope carving set inside of them and overall the mirror is in great condition and presents well. The sight size of the glass is 10 1/8” wide x 16 5/8” tall. The overall dimensions of the mirror are 16” wide x 3” deep x 28 1/2” tall.
