20TH CENTURY CHIPPENDALE ANTIQUE STYLE MAHOGANY SHELL CARVED MIRROR ~ BAKER FURNITURE We're pleased to offer for sale this absolutely gorgeous 20th century mahogany Chippendale antique style mirror by Baker furniture company. Baker furniture company began in the late 19th century in Grand Rapids alongside many other popular furniture makers. The area was richly wooded and commonly referred to as "Furniture City" with the emergence of the many shops. The founder, Siebe Baker, created his first desk in 1893 and the company steadily flourished into the industry staple it is today. This is a wonderful mirror with beautiful crotch mahogany grain, beveled glass, a nicely scrolled pierced crest, carved gilt liner, & a pair of gilt carved scallop shells.
