Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this fantastic set of 8 Chippendale antique style mahogany dining chairs. We purchased these from an eastern MA home from a family who owned them for a couple of generations. We could not locate a makers mark but the previous owners were insistent that they were made in Boston. We believe they were correct because Boston continued to have a strong custom mahogany furniture trade well into the mid 20th century. We’ve handled very similar Paines dining chairs and wouldn’t be surprised if they were the maker of the set. Paines furnished a great number of Boston’s wealthiest families homes and is held in high regards in Massachus
