The bed was made by Leonard’s of New England who continue to produce some of the finest Early American reproduction beds and beds that were converted to queen & king size from antique bed elements. We love the delicate proportions of the bed because the thin posts won’t overwhelm most rooms and block out too much light. Each post has a square bottom that transitions into the tapered pencil posts with a lamb's tongue carving. Each post is topped with adorable turned acorn finials and the bolts are covered with decorative brass bolt covers. The craftsmen at Leonard’s selected high-quality Curly Maple for the bed with exceptionally fine figuring on the headboard & footboard rail. This exact bed can still be custom ordered for just under $6000. This was a guest bed for the previous owners and was pretty sparingly used so the finish is in very good condition, pretty much mint.
